New Toyota Highlander 2012

The Toyota Highlander is a midsize crossover SUV produced by Toyota. It is a taller, heavier version of the Toyota Camry.Announced in April 2000 at the New York Auto Show and arriving in late 2000 in Japan and January, 2001, in North America, the Highlander became the first car-based midsize SUV or midsize crossover. The Highlander is the crossover counterpart to the more rugged, truck-based midsize 4Runner and became Toyota's best-selling SUV before being surpassed by the smaller RAV4 in 2006.

Unable to use the Highlander name in Japan and Australia because of a trademarked Hyundai Terracan trim line, Toyota calls the vehicle the Toyota Kluger.

Toyota Hilux 2012

The Toyota Hilux is a series of compact pickup trucks produced and marketed by the Toyota Motor Corporation. Most countries used the Hilux name for the entire life of the series but in North America, the Hilux name was retired in 1976 in favor of Truck, Pickup Truck, or Compact Truck. In North America the popular option package, the SR5 (Sport Rally 5-Speed), was colloquially used as a model name for the truck, even though the option package was also used on other Toyota models like the Corolla. In 1984, the Trekker, the camper version of the Hilux, was renamed as the 4Runner in Australia and North America, and as the Hilux Surf in Japan. In 1995, Toyota introduced a new pickup model, the Tacoma in the United States, discontinuing the Hilux/Pickup there. The 4Runner is now a full SUV, and the more recent models do not resemble the Tacoma.

In spite of the name "Hilux", it was a highly luxurious vehicle only when compared to the Stout. Hilux was engineered and assembled by Hino Motors to fill a niche between the smaller Briska and the larger Stout in most markets or to replace them in some markets. For the North American market, the only body style was a regular cab short bed and all were rear-wheel drive. It used a typical truck setup of A-arms and coil springs in front and a live axle with leaf springs in back. A 4-speed manual transmission was standard.

2011 Lotus Exige Cup 260 (Need For Speed World)

Didn't I tell you it was coming? The new Lotus Exige Cup 260 is the latest release in the world of Need For Speed. It has a 1.8-liter VVTL-i Inline-4 engine out of a Toyota Corolla which doesn't seem all that brilliant. But, Lotus had a chance to fit the small racer with a supercharger bumping the power up from 104 or whatever to 252 horsepower. It will do 0 to 60 in 4 seconds flat and hit a top speed of 152 MPH. Why release a race-ready Elise into NFS World? To teach those goody-goody cheaters in regular Elises a lesson. This thing with it's stock performance has the Elise running for cover. And, more importantly, if you put Level 3 Pro parts into this awesome ride, you'll be rivaling Eddie's Nissan Skyline, the Audi R8, even a tuned Audi A1 Clubsport Quattro. The car is available for everyone now for 4000 speedboost while the 20 winners who Spotted the Devs last Friday will get their reward this Friday. I've already bought the car and I'm making the video as we type. It'll be on tomorrow, if not Friday!

Porsche Gets a Green Thumb

This is the new Porsche Panamera. Doesn't look any different from the other models, does it? It still has that same ugly stance and 911-based design that makes it look utterly hideous. But, at least it gets good mileage, because what you're looking at here is the new Panamera Diesel. That's right! Porsche has just now unveiled their newest green machine. Under the hood is a 3.0-liter 250 horsepower V6 Turbodiesel engine with 405 lb.-ft. of torque projecting the car from 0 to 60 in 6.8 seconds to a top speed of 150 MPH. Now, that does seem quick, but thanks to a decently powerful engine and clever engineering, Porsche say that this car will do 37.3 MPG. That's near close to what you get in a Prius, and that's 10x uglier than this car! Not to mention it produces 167 CO2s per kilometer. To put in perspective, the Jaguar XFR produces 292 CO2s per kilometer which makes it much greener than any sports car comparable. If the Panamera only produces 167, that means it is genuinely doing less damage to the environment than the Nickel-ion batteries in all of Toyota's hybrids. I don't know about you, but that's astounding. Prices start at £62,134, which is $104,000 over here due to currency conversion, but Porsche haven't announced yet if it will come over here. It would be good if it did though, despite it's ugliness. 

The Future of Luxury and Green

2012 Lexus LF-Gh Hybrid Concept

Lexus is always up to something futuristic. This time, they've decided to introduce to the world the future of luxury and efficiency. This is what they've come up with, the LF-Gh Hybrid Concept. Looks like an LS600h, doesn't it? They might incorporate some features from this concept car to future luxurious hybrids in their line. The name LF-Gh stands for Lexus Future Grand Touring Hybrid and is supposed to represent where Lexus will be going with their Hybrid Technology. Not much info on the performance since this is merely a concept car, but Lexus does say that this car will help produce less emissions while providing exquisite luxury. As design goes, this car looks rather nice. Those small LED Headlamps are similar to those on the LS600h. If you go around the back, you can see that the taillamps have been designed to emphasize that "Lexussy" feel, hence the lights resemble small L's. The car itself rides on 20-inch rims and front grille looks rather aggressive. Kengo Matsumoto, the general manager of Toyota's Lexus Design Division, had this to say about the LF-Gh:

"For this concept, Lexus designers studied characteristics that are often considered contradictory and difficult to execute together. The captivating design of the LF-Gh concept examines the possibility of balancing what are normally opposing qualities, such as style and functionality." - Kango Matsumoto

So, there you are: the future of Lexus as we know it. The car will make its official debut in New York at the International Auto Show, and I will be there to check the car out personally.

Imagine this car being your day-to-day wheels. You'll be able to take shortcuts through forests or even cross deserts with ease while enjoying Lexus' patent-pended drinks-globe luxury. Unfortunately, Lexus never plan to do that, so this vehicle is meant strictly for racing. But, honestly, this is the coolest Lexus LX570 I've ever seen in my life. The Toyota Racing Development team along with JTGrey Racing helped turn this luxury SUV into a dirt-track screamer. The engine is the 5.7-liter V8 that you'll find in the standard LX570, but it's been upgraded with more power. The car itself has been lifted with all of the flotsam and jetsam removed from the cabin and 37-inch wheels and tires for more ruggedness. This truck has secured many victories in the SCORE Stock Full Championship Series. With Team Racer Joe Bacal behind the wheel, this rugged Lexus has taken victories in the Las Vegas 300, the San Felipe 250, and many Baja 1000 Races. So, there you are. The best Lexus LX570 ever. Period.

Toyota Supra 2010 Review and Price with Wallpapers

Gossips love concept vehicles, especially those that seem to belong in showrooms already. Take the Toyota FT-HS. Unveiled at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show as a "21st-century sports car," it reminded some of Toyota's well-liked Supra. And why not? It's another high-style sporty coupe with rear-wheel drive, a six-cylinder engine, and seating for four. Obviously, a new Supra was on the way, and with gas/electric power to boot. After all, FT-HS stands for "Future Toyota-Hybrid Sport."
Carmakers usually shrug off new-model rumors, but Toyota did the just opposite with the FT-HS. As Road & Track reported, a company spokesperson described the concept as "a car we all know Toyota should have. It would slide right into the slot where the Supra was, as a mid-price sports/GT car--something we need in our product line." Which implies a rival to the Nissan 350Z, which the concept closely matches in size, and not the Chevrolet Corvette, which the last Supra targeted. Trouble is, a strong yen 10 years ago priced the Supra out of its market. A new hybrid model could suffer the same fate, given today's weak dollar/yen exchange and hybrid technology that remains expensive.
Still, Toyota is a big company with huge cash reserves. And it remains committed to making gas/electric power just another option throughout its lineup. Moreover, Toyota likes to showcase its technology in distinctively styled niche vehicles like the compact Prius hybrid, that darling of Hollywood greenies. Add it all up and the case for FT-HS morphing into a new Supra looks pretty convincing. In fact, some oddsmakers say it's a sure thing.
2010 Toyota Supra Release Date: It's unclear at the moment, but we'd look for the 2010 Toyota Supra by summer or fall of 2009--especially if a showroom-ready Supra "concept" appears at one of this winter's major auto shows. However, Toyota says its engineering staffs are now stretched to the limit by other new models planned for the next couple of years, so the Supra could be delayed.
2010 Toyota Supra Prices: The "mid-price sports/GT" description and sophisticated hybrid-drive hardware suggests the 2010 Toyota Supra would be priced well above the Nissan 350Z, perhaps close to the $70,000 high-performance Corvette Z06.

Toyota Vitz 2009 Details with Pictures

The Toyota Yaris (sold in different markets as the Toyota Vitz and Toyota Echo) is a line of subcompact cars first launched by Toyota in 1999, designed by Sotiris Kovos. The Yaris is a 3 and 5 door hatchback automobile.
In Europe, the Americas, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, the Vitz is sold as the Yaris Liftback (or simply Yaris). Up to 2005, the Vitz was known as the Echo Hatchback in Canada, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand, with the Toyota Platz sedan being known as the Echo; the first generation Vitz was never sold in the US. Since 2006, the Vitz and Belta are marketed in US/Canada as the Yaris Hatchback and Yaris, respectively.
The Toyota Belta sedan, which replaced the Toyota Platz, shares underpinnings with the Vitz. However, while the Vitz was designed at Toyota's European design studios, the Belta was designed at Toyota's Japanese design studios – two completely different design projects for similar cars marketed toward different demographics. While the outgoing Vitz and Platz models look and feel virtually alike (the only things the cars don't share is the front clip, lights, rear doors, and bodies from behind the B-pillar), the new Vitz and Belta are much more subtly related. Sharing a similar but different dashboard, they do not employ the same components. The cars share only a frame and the drivetrain options. The sheet metal is completely different.

Toyota Corolla 2011 Model Preview and Price with Pictures

The 2011 Toyota Corolla could be in line for minor styling changes and perhaps a new engine for its sportiest model as Toyota seeks to freshen its popular compact midway through this design generation’s lifecycle. The styling changes would be subtle and the sporty XRS model is a low-volume offering -- not that this economical sedan’s appeal hinges on looks or performance. Corolla consistently ranks among America’s top-selling cars because buyers trust it as a no-risk investment. Long-term reliability is still a strong suit. Toyota-brand resale values are slowly regaining strength after the sudden-acceleration controversy. And recalls of model-year 2009 and 2010 Corollas for modifications to prevent sudden acceleration seem to be just a minor blemish: buoyed by heavy factory incentives, Corolla is holding at No. 1 in compact-car sales.
All 2011 Toyota Corollas will come with updates to software and hardware associated with Toyota’s response to the sudden-acceleration recalls. Beyond that, the only mechanical change of note would be a new engine for the 2011 Corolla XRS. All Corollas have four-cylinder engines. The 2011 Toyota Corolla XRS is positioned to replace a 158-horsepower 2.4-liter with a 2.5-liter likely rated at 169 horsepower. Other 2011 Corollas should continue with a 132-horsepower 1.8-liter four. Both engines will again be available with a five-speed manual transmission or an optional automatic. The automatic in 2011 XRS models is likely to remains a class-competitive five-speed, but the automatic used in other Corollas probably will again be a less-efficient -- and less-expensive -- four-speed. Toyota could decide the added mileage benefits of a five-speed automatic might be worth considering for all 2011 Corollas. It won’t, however, offer a hybrid Corolla during this design generation. Toyota relies on Prius and the Camry Hybrid to fly its green-car flag. If you want a station-wagon version of the Corolla, though, walk across the showroom to the 2011 Toyota Matrix. It’s a Corolla underneath its high-roof, four-door wagon body, and it’s available with all-wheel drive. The 2011 Toyota Corolla will retain front-wheel drive, which places the weight of the engine over the drive wheels for good wet-surface traction and concentrates powertrain components in the front for efficient packaging.
1.8-liter engine Corollas are amongst the most fuel efficient cars in the class, however ratings for 2011 model are not available till now. With both manual- and automatic-transmission their rating is 26/34 mpg (city/highway).
Due to very high demand and high resale values Corolla is amongst the most expensive cars in compact class. It will be expected to start around $16,200 with manual transmission and around $17,000 with automatic.

For Toyota Corolla 2011 LE model the base price will be around $17,600. It contains power windows, locks and automatic transmission. S versions of Toyota corolla 2011 will be expected to start around $17,300 with manual transmission and $18,200 with automatic. S versions should start around $17,300 with manual transmission, $18,200 with automatic. The estimated base price of 2011 Corolla XLE is around $18,500 with automatic transmission.

The base price of top-line XRS model will be estimated around $19,750 with manual transmission, $21,000 with automatic.

Toyota FT 86 Concept Review

Toyota baffled every car lover beyond belief when revealed the FT-86 G Sports Concept car on the very first day of the Tokyo Auto Salon 2010. The new concept car from the world’s largest automaker has been revealed in person and virtually. The Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept Car was introduced to the public at the Tokyo Auto Salon, and is proudly featured in the new trailer for Gran Turismo 5.
With an array of upgrades, particularly turbo charging of the Subaru-sourced 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine, the example was developed to help promote Toyota’s new G Sports styling kits, exclusive to the Japanese market. Toyota plans to use the badge in series of cars modified by motorsports firm Gazoo Racing to be released only in Japan
Body modifications include a wider, and smoothed-out front bumper that leads to wider wheel arches. A new front spoiler can also be seen at the bottom. The car’s hood, now with air vents, is made from carbon fiber
The car has a new rear spoiler sitting on top of the decklid, which now includes a new strip of lighting. The rear bumper is more squared off, with a diffuser that brings the dual exhaust pipes to the center.
Toyota FT-86 G has rounded off exterior mods with a new set of 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance Potenza RE050 tires size 245/40 R19 up front and 275/35 R19 at the rear. The only interior upgrade that is mentioned by Gazoo is the addition of a pair of Recaro bucket seats.
